Ceilings undoubtedly create an effect on the interior of a home, besides being an integral structure to interior design just like the walls, the floors, the furniture and fixtures in a room, The ceiling forms one of the most important structural elements in terms of functionality as well as creativity which in turn brings good aesthetics to the building’s interior.

Suspended ceilings are very popular in commercial properties as they provide a useful space for concealing unsightly wires and installations that otherwise would alter the interior appearance of the building.

3. Tray ceiling: A tray also called an inverted or recessed ceiling resembles a large upside-down tray set into a ceiling. The center section is situated several inches or feet higher than the perimeter, drawing the eye upward, adding visual interest, and creating a three-dimensional effect.

4. Coffered ceiling: A coffered ceiling is a pattern of indentations or recesses in an overhead surface. In architecture, a “coffer” is a sunken panel in a ceiling, including the interior surfaces of domes and vaults. If a surface is “coffered,” it is not smooth. The architectural detail has been popular since Renaissance architects imitated Classical Roman techniques. Modernist architects often play with the depth and shape of the coffer.

5. Cathedral ceiling: This is the design that was most popular with cathedrals so the sense just evolved to describe a style particular to a certain type of building. Cathedral ceilings are now widely used in architecture and not just when building cathedrals but all sorts of other structures too, including residences. Artisans and their troubles

A handyman is a person skilled in a wide range of repairs, typically around the home. These tasks include repair work and maintenance work either interior or exterior, and are sometimes described as “side work”, “odd jobs” or “fix-up tasks”. Anyone who has dealt with an artisan or handyman in Nigeria would have series of stories to tell as to how and unreliable they are. From Over charging to broken promises or purchasing substandard parts, to causing further damage, the list goes on. Therefore we need to find new ways to deal with these artisans and handymen. Even Our organization has not been exempted from the challenges we face with artisans and handymen. We’ll use one instance as a case study for this gist, but the names of individuals would be altered for obvious reasons. Usually we don’t have our artisans sign any written contract for easy relationship just to allow them feel at home, but some of them just seize the opportunity to take us for granted.
In this case, we got a contract to change the doors of a building; we sent Mr. Klaus one of our carpenters for inspection. He brought his quotation and we sent our quotation to the client, upon approval, work started. Midway through the job, Mr. Klaus calls to say he’ll need more money. Mister man you brought your quotation, so why all these stories? So… Mr. Klaus Started giving Flimsy excuses…What do we do. We can’t go back to the client now can we. Certainly, that will be too unprofessional even for us, and we can’t have another carpenter finish someone else’s job, it’ll make matter worse. So, we decided to beat the price down and give it to him, just for peace to reign, we were ready to cut our losses.
After about 3 days, Mr Klaus was back and at it again, asking for even more money. The scenario made us wonder about his mental state. At this point the company had to deliberate to decide on what’s best, sending another person to finish the job or give Mr. Klaus what he wants, cutting our loss both ways. As you already know, during the course of deliberation, the job was on hold and the client was on our neck. The company decided to give Mr. Klaus what he wants just to cross the finish line as soon as possible, but ensured this was the last we would hear from Mr. Klaus, for this Job and future ones.
Now we make every artisan sign an agreement contract even non-competes and non-disclosures which normally should not be their business but prevention is better than cure right? If organizations like ours with policies that guide us also encounter these problems, we can only assume the general public must have seen worse. A solution has to be on the cards. What happened to taxis with the advent of Uber, taxify and the likes needs to happen to artisans and handymen. This same thing needs to happen to the repairmen, artisans and handymen market.
